Barriers
What makes places ours? What makes specific plots of earth belong to anyone? A learned concept of ownership and space that is embedded in our culture, which each one of us is taught since birth. We create walls between places in many different ways, all with the general intention of keeping others out.
For a short time, while photographing landscapes for Of Our Demise, I became interested in trying to document different types of barriers. I feel that I will someday revisit this idea, as for now, is a body that stands on weak legs.
