Of Our Demise
I began shooting this body of work as an extension of my Of Our Demise series. I wanted to continue working with landscapes, but begin to develop the idea of use of space. While moving away from the more abstract format of the parent series, Land & Sea is a more focused, concentrated documentation of the greater Bay Area’s use of land.
I strive to depict our interactions within this area with the natural world. How we have shaped these hills into spaces viable for living, growing food, supplying water, and a thriving industry of importing/exporting and refining oil. This project is still its beginning stages; I anticipate that it will take many years to complete.
